Our Mission

The Black Real Estate School strives to educate people of color about the value of real estate investments as wealth building opportunities. Through our carefully crafted courses, taught by top Black Real Estate Agents, we hope to give people of color the tools that they need to be successful in the Real Estate market. Real Estate is a sound lifetime investment; it is one that can reap immeasurable dividends. With our guidance, our students will have a greater chance at success. Through knowledge sharing, sound information, and practical steps, we hope to empower the Black community.

Our History

The Black Real Estate School was founded by Andre C. Hatchett and Dr. Boyce Watkins in 2016. It was built out of a desire to share the expertise that they both gained after many years in the real estate and investment industries. Together, they have amassed an invaluable amount of information that they pass on to their students in the course. They are passionate about people making sound investments, finding financial security, building a secure dynasty, and passing on generational wealth.

Our Founders

Andre C. Hatchett is a nationally acclaimed entrepreneur and philanthropist. As the current owner of TheBlackRealEstateSchool.com, AndresNotarySchool.com and Priority Notary, Inc., Andre is a man who wears many successful hats!

Andre is the driving force behind the national Black Business Challenge social media campaign that encourages African-Americans to patronize businesses owned and operated by black entrepreneurs.

Andre attributes his passion and entrepreneurial drive to his father who taught him, “If you go to school with someone, you should never have to work for them.” Those profound words resonated with Andre at a young age. Before high school, Andre shoveled snow, sold lemonade, and wholesaled candy. His entrepreneurial skills positioned him for success as he transitioned from boyhood to manhood.

At the age of 22, Andre completed the formidable task of being a first-time homeowner. Without letting any dust settle, he then purchased a second home at the young age of 23. Continuing his real estate success, he has worked as a Business Consultant, Professional Coach, and currently he serves as a skilled Real Estate Sales Expert, earning him the nickname “Mr. Condo.”

Dr. Boyce Watkins was born to a 17-year-old single mother and placed in special education as a child. Despite this, Dr. Watkins has risen above these obstacles to become a pioneer of scholarship and advocacy worldwide. In college, he was the Wall Street Journal’s Outstanding Graduating Senior in Finance with a triple major in Finance, Economics, and Business Management. He went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Mathematical Statistics and a Ph.D. in Finance at The Ohio State University. The year that he graduated, Dr. Watkins was the only African-American in the world to earn a Ph.D. in Finance.

As a public intellectual, Dr. Watkins has changed the definition of what it means to be a scholar in America by leveraging cutting-edge technology and a vast network of scholars, celebrities, and activists to share empowering, thought-provoking messages to the masses. Dr. Watkins has made thousands of appearances on national media outlets, including CNN, ABC, MSNBC, and many others. He is also the founder of the Your Black World Coalition and the co-founder of Watkins Media Group — both organizations collectively reach more than 6 million readers per month.

Dr. Watkins has authored many books, including What if George Bush were a Black Man?; Financial Lovemaking 101: Merging Assets with Your Partner in Ways that Feel Good; Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about College; and Black American Money 1 and 2: How Black Power Can Thrive in a Capitalist Society. Thought provoking, principled, and down-to-earth, Dr. Watkins has committed his life to promote the idea of critical thinking and to empower others to make the world a better place. He is a believer in the concept of Scholarship in Action and he is determined to use his expertise to educate, elevate, and intellectually emancipate the masses.
